The four-time NBA MVP surpassed Jordan for career points as he tallied 31 for the Lakers in their loss to the Nuggets.
While it looks poised to be a disappointing first season in LA for James, who appears in line to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2005, he can console himself with another outstanding individual achievement.
However, while Jordan is now in his rear-view mirror in terms of points, James still has three more NBA greats to surpass to become the league’s all-time leading scorer, and that may be a tall task for the 34
