This weekend of college football surpassed expectations going into Saturday’s games. Sure, teams like Ohio State and Alabama had their expected blowouts, but it was upset central with Texas overpowering (and then hanging on against) Oklahoma, Florida taking down LSU and Mississippi State knocking off Auburn.

Especially with conference championship and College Football Playoff implications for the top-ranked teams — which often produce crazy moments of their own — it’s easy for amazing plays in less high-profile games to get overlooked.

7. Eastern Michigan TE Gunnar Oakes’ one-handed TD

It wasn’t enough to help lift the Eagles over Western Michigan, but this catch from the freshman tight end certainly deserves a slow-motion replay.

6. Northwestern WR JJ Jefferson’s deep dive

Perfectly thrown by Clayton Thorson, the freshman wide receiver was able to extend into the end zone as the Wildcats upset Michigan State on the road.
